Antonia Cristan Villarreal, age 91, of Frisco, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 14, 2021. She was born on December 28, 1929, in Goliad, Texas, to the late Eloisa and Loreto Cristan. Antonia, was the oldest of all 13 of her siblings. She grew up working on Baldwin Farm. Her days would consist of working hard on the land, helping her mama with household chores, and going to ‘bailes’ with her father on the weekends. In 1953, she married Jose Reyes Villarreal, on August 24 in Bishop, Texas. Antonia who was lovingly referred as ‘Tony’ was a mother to seven children and was a second mom to many. She worked as a cook, retired from Frisco ISD, as well as utilize her many skills as a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, Tia, and friend to many. Antonia was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Antonia is survived by siblings; Estefana (Noel) Brenland, Cornelia Quintanilla, Rosa Cok. Her children, Janie (Robert) Flores, Camelita Villarreal, Martin (Karol) Villarreal, Rachel (Erbey) Ortiz, and Anita (David) Smalley; her grandchildren, Amanda (Nigil) Howard, Felix Serrano, Richard Serrano, Justine Munoz, Destiny Munoz, Felicia (Howard) Cantrell, Tosha Flores, Monique Flores, Roby Flores, Kayla Villarreal, Kasey Villarreal, John Villegas, Lauren Villegas, Grace Ortiz, Ethan Ortiz, Alyssa Reyna, Leo Aguilar, and Tonya Gentry; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Reyes Villarreal, her siblings, Crespin Cristan, Alejandro Cristan, Carmen Morales, Estevan Cristan, Reyes Cristan and four other siblings who passed away during infancy. She is also preceded in death by her son, Jesse Villarreal, and her grandson, Orlando Serrano.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow, 8520 Main St, Frisco, TX 75034, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Berkshire Chapel on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Little Elm Cemetery.
