IN LOVING MEMORY

Annie Ruth Casady

Dec 26 1947 - Jan 30 2021

Sometimes in life you come upon someone who loves deeply, gives to everyone endlessly, and always has a smile. Ane was that person to everyone she met. A delightful and generous loving lady who always brought out the best in everyone and who never gave up.

Annie Ruth Casady, a loving, devoted mother, Granan, and friend of Prosper, TX, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2021 with family close by at the age of 73. She was born on December 26, 1947 in Baytown, Texas. Ane’s birth parents passed away early in her life, so she went to Buckner Baptist Children’s Home in Dallas, where she lived until she was eighteen years old. She graduated high school from W.W. Samuel High School in Dallas in 1966. After high school, Ane had the honor of meeting Curtis and Shirley Baker. They not only gave her the opportunity to go to college, but they brought her into their lives, becoming her parents and, together with their three children, providing her with the loving family for which she had always dreamed. She attended Kilgore Junior College and then went on to attend the University of Texas, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. Ane then attended graduate school at Southern Methodist University where she earned a Masters Degree in Psychology. In 1971, she joined the Dallas Police Department where she was an Officer until 1981 when she left to become a realtor so she could work from home and raise her new daughter. Later in life she worked as a Corrections Officer for Collin County Juvenile Detention Center where she retired in 2014. She continued her work as a realtor with a big heart for all her remaining years, working most recently with Ebby Halliday.

Ane lived a life full of faith, family and friends. She was a long-time member of Prestonwood Baptist Church, North Campus, in Prosper.  She served many years on both the Prosper School Board and Prosper City Council. She was also a founding member of Collin College and helped coordinate the Prosper 5-0. She enjoyed traveling with family, friends, and most importantly, her granddaughter. She also enjoyed reading and attending her granddaughters sporting events.

Ane is survived by her daughter, Navette Triana Davis and husband, Cliff of Prosper; their daughter, Kaymann Brighton Grace Davis; Navette’s father, Mike Casady of Holly Lake Ranch; parents, Curtis and Shirley Baker of Lindale; brother and his wife, Randy and Mica of Lindale; sisters, Ginger Denton of Dallas and Dinah Beams and her husband, Bill of Lakewood, Colorado; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Prestonwood Baptist Church North Campus, 1001 Prosper Trail, Prosper, Texas 75078. To watch the service click the following link:
