Anna Tilley

Anna Martha Tilley

October 24, 1934 - May 7, 2022

Anna Martha Tilley passed away May 7, 2022 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 87. She was born to Louis and Italia Anna (Liberatore) Molinaro on October 24, 1934 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

Anna’s family moved to Concord, California when she was 13 and she graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in 1952. She married Wayne Allen Tilley on January 9, 1954 in Pittsburg, California. Anna initially worked for the city manager in Pittsburg, and then moved on to work as an executive secretary for the Pittsburg Chief of Police. She was employed with them for 30 years until her retirement in 1998.

Anna was an avid golfer, president of the local Soroptimist chapter and worked closely with the Chamber of Commerce. She was a board member at the City of Pittsburg Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends most of all.

As a lifelong Catholic, she taught her children there was no conflict between reason and faith. She saw them as complimentary tools in the pursuit of truth, now and in eternity.

As the shepherd of “her three boys” Anna was a protector and a force to be reckoned with. Her love for family was present in everything from boating and camping, social activities, holiday gatherings and most predominant was while spending time at their cabin near Twain Harte, California.

Anna is survived by her husband, Wayne Tilley of McKinney, Texas; son, Wayne Edward Tilley and wife, Rhonda of Walnut Creek, California; son, Gary Allen Tilley and wife, Dannette of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Wayne Tilley and wife, Nicole, Brian Tilley and wife, Ashley, Morgan Dodson and husband, Beau, and Mark Tilley and wife, Brittany; great grandchildren, Aundreya, Logan, Steele, Dominic, Annabella, Ava, Brylie, Jack, Bryson, and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and three sisters.

Guests are welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Life from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the home of Gary and Dannette Tilley, 2636 Valley Creek Trail, McKinney, Texas 75072.
