IN LOVING MEMORY

Anna Marie Howe

Jan 31 1946 - Oct 23 2026

Anna Marie Howe, 80, of McKinney, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2026, at home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on January 31, 1946, in Beaumont, Texas, Anna was the youngest of nine children born to the Reverend Wilford Prejean and Anna Marie Breaux. She spent her early years in Beaumont. After her mother passed away when Anna was just 15, she moved to Riverside, California, where she graduated from Riverside Polytechnic High School and later earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Riverside.

Throughout her life, Anna embraced many roles, but none brought her more joy than teaching elementary school children. A firm believer in social justice, she devoted countless hours to community organizing, empowering parents to advocate for stronger public schools and for the issues that shaped the well-being of their neighborhoods.

Anna's life was anchored in hope, faith, and love in Christ. A devoted prayer warrior, she made Scripture and prayer the foundation of her daily life. One of her favorite verses, Micah 6:8, beautifully reflected the way she lived: "He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"

To know Anna was to love her. She touched countless lives with her kindness, encouragement, and gentle spirit. Many saw her as a second mother, drawn to her compassion for those who were hurting, her uplifting words, her humor, and her generosity. No one felt her love more deeply than her sons and grandchildren, whom she adored.

Anna loved art and delighted in gardening, quilting, cooking, and baking. In her later years, she cherished the deep and joyful friendships she shared with Evelyn Freeman and Deborah Norah. Together, the three were affectionately known as the "Golden Girls of McKinney."

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David Christopher Howe; her brothers, Ollie, Wilbur, Willis, and Wilson Prejean; her sisters, Mary Walker, Ethel Williams, and Leona Herbert; and her dear friends, Evelyn Freeman and Deborah Norah.

She is survived by her twin sons, Hiram Timothy Howe (Tacara) and Sean Keith Howe (Kerrie); her twelve grandchildren, Aaron Howe, Myles Bradford, Christopher Howe, Eva Howe, Camille Howe, Jase Howe, Tori Howe, Chloe Howe, Collette Howe, Carmelle Howe, Nehemiyah Howe, and Noach Howe; her brother, Ananias Prejean; and a large and loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
