Anna (Anne) Elizabeth (Price) Keister of Plano, Texas passed away on October 19, 2017 at the age of 92. She was born on July 10, 1925 to Charles George and Bertha May (Ochs) Price in Ashland, Pennsylvania. Anne was born a coal miner’s daughter; her father was a Fireboss in the coal mines. She graduated from Conyngham Township High School in Aristes, Pennsylvania. Following her high school graduation, Anne moved to Washington, D.C. and started working for the federal government for over 30 years until her retirement. Some of the agencies she worked for were the Atomic Energy Commission, the White House and the Energy Department where she directly served Dr. James R. Schlesinger, Energy Secretary.
Anne married Eston Randolph Pugh on December 21, 1946 and they had one daughter. He preceded her in death in 1972. She then married Paul Milton Keister on October 26, 1974 in Rockville, Maryland. Anne collected Heisey glass and enjoyed gardening. Her entire life, she was a devoted Southern Baptist. Anne was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas where she participated in Bible studies, Sunday school, the communion setup committee and preparing care boxes for active military personnel.
Anne is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Paul Milton Keister of Plano, Texas; daughter, Julia Anne Johnson and husband, Vernon of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Joseph Poduslo and Jacquelyn Poduslo; sister, Mary Lou Price Wagner; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Eston Pugh; and her brother, Charles Robert Price.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd., Plano, Texas 75093 with Pastor Neal Jeffrey officiating. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
Funeral flowers or memorial donations may be made in Anne’s name to the American Heart Association.
