IN LOVING MEMORY

Ann Guzman

Jul 14 1951 - Oct 24 2026

Gerry Ann Guzman of Lucas, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026, at the age of 75.

Ann was born on July 14, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to Mary Kitchens. She later met the love of her life, John Guzman, and the two were married on August 23, 1980. Together, they began building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Ann was deeply involved in local politics and dedicated much of her time to serving her community. She began her career in public service as a council member and went on to serve four two-year terms as Mayor of Lucas. She was a passionate advocate for the fire department and neighboring communities, always willing to speak up for the causes and people she cared about. Her commitment to public service reflected her strong convictions, spirited personality, and unwavering desire to make a difference.

Outgoing, generous, and deeply loving, Ann had a special gift for bringing people together. She was very social and made many friends throughout her life. Family was at the center of her world, and she will be remembered for her warmth, loyalty, and enormous heart. Ann was never afraid to speak her mind, and those who knew her will remember her unmistakable personality and the love she shared so freely.

Ann was also an avid reader with a particular fondness for mysteries. Her curiosity and love of learning extended far beyond novels, as she even enjoyed reading entire sets of encyclopedias, from the first volume to the very last. When she wasn't immersed in a good book, she could often be found enjoying classic Westerns and mystery shows, two of her favorite genres.

Ann also had a special love for animals, especially her dogs. Among them, her Chihuahua, Dallas, held an especially dear place in her heart.

Above all, Ann will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Her love for her family, her dedication to her community, and the countless friendships she formed throughout her life leave behind a lasting legacy.

Ann will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she gave will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her husband, John Guzman; son, Russell Guzman and his wife, Jamie; granddaughter, McKenzie Hays; grandson, Jaxon “Moose” Guzman; and granddaughter, Gianna Guzman; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
