Our beautiful and sweet Ann left us for a better place while surrounded by her loving family, on September 14, 2017, at the age of 72. Heaven is a better place today. Ann was born on September 21, 1944, to Lemoyne William “Bill” Passmore and Betty Josephine (Vaughn) Passmore in Greenfield, Missouri. Ann was a 1962 graduate of Longview High School in Longview, Texas. While attending Foster Junior High School in Longview, she met the love of her life, Claude Edward Landers Jr., who she would marry on January 3, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri. They had sixty wonderful years together.
During their marriage, Ann and Claude had two children, Leslie and Jonathan, who both grew up in Plano, Texas. Ann was a proud grandmother to four wonderful boys and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.
Ann worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas from 1965 until her retirement in 2007, except for a seven-year period when she and her husband owned and operated The Toy Barn in Plano. Everyone who knew her remembers a beautiful, sweet, and kind woman, and her family remembers a loving mother and amazing cook. Ann loved working in her garden, and in her final days she enjoyed looking out at her beautiful backyard. She was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed reading mysteries.
Ann leaves behind her husband and best friend, Claude Landers of Plano, Texas; children, Leslie Ann Rhodes and husband Wayne “Stoney” Rhodes of Plano, and Jonathan David Landers and wife Sarina Marie Landers of Houston; grandchildren, Clayton Wayne Rhodes, Colton Edward Rhodes, Christian Alexander Rhodes, and Matthew Lane Landers; mother, Betty Passmore of West Carrolton, Ohio; and siblings, Mike Passmore, Pat Long, and Linda Dortch.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Lemoyne William Passmore.
The family will receive friends and family during a visitation on Sunday, September 17, 2017, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. A private funeral service will be held at a later time.
