Anita Louise Barch of Princeton, Texas passed away November 19, 2022 at the age of 76. She was born on September 25, 1946 to Joe and Bessie (Arnette) Gentry of Blytheville, Arkansas. Anita attended Ole Miss University and Texas Women’s University, where she received her master’s degree in teaching. She married her best friend and love of her life, the late Phillip Thomas Barch, Sr. in 1966. They were married for 44 wonderful years before he passed away in 2010.
Anita had a passion for teaching and her students, she spent 42 years working in the McKinney and Princeton Independent school districts, where she not only impacted her students' lives but left a lasting impact on anyone she encountered. She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her two sons, her oldest son, Phillip Barch Jr. and wife Kim of Princeton, Texas and their children, Matthew and Brianna; her youngest son, Derick Barch and wife Jana of Melissa, Texas and their children, Chandler and Summer, and great-grandchild, Tessa, daughter of Skylar. Her sister, Clementine Barch and her husband of Princeton, Texas. Anita was a loving, wife, mother, "NeNe" as known by her grandchildren, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Barch; her parents, Joe and Bessie Gentry McQuiston, step-father Frank McQuiston; granddaughter, Skylar Barch; and brother Joe Bob Gentry.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Interment is to follow the funeral service at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Texas.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience to pay their respects and to sign the register book on Sunday. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
