Angelita Munoz Cervantes, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on October 1, 1937, in Sebastian, Texas, to Juan Munoz and Emilia Uvalle.
Angelita married Ricardo Cervantes in 1958 in Dallas, Texas, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and devotion. She was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where her deep spirituality and strong faith were central to her life. She will be remembered as a caring, spiritual, and joyful woman whose presence was a blessing to all who knew her.
Angelita was known for her loving and selfless nature. She was a true giver—family-oriented and deeply motherly to everyone she met. Her kindness and warmth made her a source of comfort and support for so many. She was always available to others, offering care, compassion, and a bright, genuine smile.
She had a passion for gardening which she took pride in in her beautiful flowerbeds. She was known for her green thumb, bringing beauty and life wherever she planted. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was happy to become a great great grandmother for the first time, whom she loved dearly.
Angelita is survived by her husband, Ricardo Cervantes of McKinney; daughter, Maria Diana McKinzie and husband, Johnny of McKinney, and their son, Johnny McKinzie, Jr.; daughter, Juanita Cervantes Roberts and partner, Alan Johnson, and her children, Chris Rodriguez, Jr. and Jessica Angelita Rodriguez; son, Ricardo Cervantes, Jr., and wife, Rita Cervantes; son, Javier Cervantes and wife, Melissa Cervantes, and their children, Ezekiel Javier Cervantes, Sofia Cervantes Thompson, Deja Cervantes, Justin Brazil, and James Gabriel Cervantes; daughter, Ester Cervantes(deceased) and her children, Thomas Bazan, Emilia Maria Bazan, daughter, Nancy Cervantes(deceased) and her children, Tamika Mack and Timmy Mack, Jr.; son, Alberto Munoz Cervantes and wife, Lissette El-Fauri and her brother, Francisco Escamilla and wife, Anita.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy Cervantes; daughter, Ester Cervantes; granddaughter, Deanna Arispe; sisters, Julia Escamilla, Aurelia Munoz Garza; and brothers, Isidro Munoz, Juan Munoz, Pedro Munoz, Mariano Munoz, and Cruz Munoz.
On Monday, June 22, 2026, the family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 652 Redbud Boulevard, McKinney, Texas 75069. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
