IN LOVING MEMORY

Angela Santucci

Dec 28 1941 - Apr 28 2020

On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, Angela Santucci (LoCastro), loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at age 78 from complications arising from abdominal surgery.

Angela was born on December 28, 1941 to Samuel and Patrina (Bellavia) LoCastro in Rochester, New York. On June 6, 1962, she married Eugene Edward Santucci. They adopted two daughters, Désirée and Melissa. While raising her children she also took college courses whenever she could, obtaining her BA in Communication from Cal State Fullerton in the mid-1980s. During this time, she also worked as a freelance writer, having several short autobiographical stories published in local periodicals.

While living in Laguna Beach, Angela became enamored by the local artist community. She regularly attended the Sawdust Festival and later pursued her own artistic muses through painting. She loved reading, particularly British mystery authors, a passion she passed on to her oldest daughter who often inherited the books as well. She loved to teach Melissa how to cook and bake, while blaring Linda Ronstadt from the record player. She was also a fan of artists Jim Croce, Neil Diamond, and, Simon & Garfunkel, whose cassettes could be found piled high in the glove compartment of her car. She found great entertainment in World Wrestling Entertainment allowing herself to become a crazed fan for a few hours on Saturday mornings.  She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends and watching noir movies from the 30s and 40s with her husband. She would happily get down on the floor to play with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Ahma.” She loved to take her children to Laguna Beach every Saturday while their father was working to enjoy the sand and the water, and always made sure they knew they were loved.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eugene Santucci of Allen, Texas; daughter, Désirée Greverud, her wife, Therese Greverud and their two daughters, Taryn and Kayleigh of Stockholm, Sweden; daughter, Melissa Williams, her husband, Doug Williams and her two daughters, McKenna and Addisyn of McKinney, Texas; brother, Joseph LoCastro and his wife, Susan of Sutton, Massachusetts; 2 nieces, Pam Wright (Scott) and Janet LoCastro and one nephew, Jason (Melissa) LoCastro and 5 great nieces and nephews, Adam, Alison, Catherine, Evelyn and Jake.
