Andrew "Andy" Lee Summers

Andrew “Andy” Lee Summers of Allen, Texas passed away May 17, 2018, at the age of 47.  He was born December 9, 1970, to Roger Lee Summers and Adeline Claire (Leonard) Summers in Houston, Texas. Andy grew up in Thibodaux, Louisiana where he graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1988.  He earned his bachelors degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he played offensive tackle for the Boll Weevils football team. Andy continued his education at the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his MBA.  He married Mary Helen Huye on October 14, 2000 in Conroe, Texas. Andy was the CEO of Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Dallas and previously worked in healthcare finance around the DFW area.  His hobbies included fishing, cooking out, baseball and football. Andy’s greatest enjoyment was coaching his son’s baseball teams, spoiling his daughter and spending time with his family.  

He is survived by his wife, Mary Summers of Allen, Texas; children, Drew Summers and Anna Summers; mother, Adeline Summers of Thibodaux, Louisiana; sister, Martha Summers of Cypress, Texas; several nieces and nephews; in-laws; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, Roger Summers and sister, Monica Summers.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas. A private interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
