Andrea Kirsten Wentz, 56, of North Dallas, passed away on December 5, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1969, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Dr. Edward Liske and Karen Liske.
The youngest of five children, Andrea grew up alongside her brothers Hans and Peter and her sisters Ericka and Alexandra in San Antonio, Texas. She made and maintained many lifelong friendships beginning with Kiddie Kollege preschool through Winston Churchill High School, class of 1988.
As a child, she was vibrant and energetic, with a natural gift for athletics that would shape her early life. An exceptional tennis player, Andrea competed on her high school tennis team that won the 5A Texas state championship and qualified to play in the USTA girls 18 National tournament. She was a member of John Newcombe’s junior touring team and traveled to England playing various tournaments. She was able to attend Wimbledon the summer of 1984. Later, she became a coach at his summer camp in New Braunfels for two years. Her talent earned her a scholarship to play tennis for Tyler Junior College, where she continued to excel both on and off the court.
Andrea went on to earn her undergraduate degree in 1992 from the University of North Texas in Denton, and was also a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. It was here she met Steve Wentz. The two married soon after graduation and built their life together in the North Dallas area, where they raised their three children: Avery, Stewart, and Sarina. Andrea's greatest joy was her family, and she loved her children deeply and was immensely proud of them.
A passionate and talented cook, Andrea found joy in preparing meals, entertaining, and bringing people together around the table. Her children’s birthday parties were planned with great detail and always fun affairs for both the children and their parents.
She was a whiz on the sewing machine, making beautiful creations such as curtains, pillows, table runners and her favorite, sewing her children’s Halloween costumes. In later years, her parents moved to be near her, and she provided them with devoted love and support. She continued her lifelong love of tennis by competing in a women's tennis league in McKinney, and also taught private lessons to children.
Andrea loved the beach. A most cherished period of her life was enjoying a decade of summer family vacations in Seaside, FL, where she spent quality time with longtime friends and their families, creating life-long lasting memories.
Preceded in death by her father, Edward Liske, Jr., Andrea is survived by her children: Avery and fiancé Alex Bouterse, Stewart and wife Nicole, Sarina Young and husband Luke; all her children’s father: Steve Wentz; her mother: Karen Liske; her siblings: Hans and wife Lynn, their children Loreal and Lindsey; Ericka and husband Rudy Bruno, their children Natalie, Estelle, Jonathan, Ava, and Miles; Peter and children Maddie, Sienna, and Colton; Alexandra and children Nicholas and fiancée Vy, Erin, and Reagan Eichel.
