Beam, Amy

Amy Michelle Beam

October 19, 1967 - November 6, 2019

Amy Michelle Long Beam of Allen, Texas passed away November 6, 2019, at the age of 52. Amy was born on October 19, 1967 in Abilene, Texas to parents, George William (Billy) and Sondra (Foster) Long. Her passing was due to complications from congestive heart failure. Amy loved Allen and Allen loved her. She started third grade in Allen ISD.  Amy so loved her schools, teachers and friends. She had a good heart and remained connected with her friends and teachers. She was strong-willed and a fighter to the end. In high school Amy – along with fellow school mates - traveled with the “People to People Student Ambassador Program” to Europe, representing Allen High School. Amy lettered in volleyball as well as being in the Homecoming Court her senior year. She was also an Allen High School cheerleader. Amy loved her church and her church family. Vacation Bible School and youth trips were things she looked forward to each year. Even though she said she couldn’t carry a tune, she was in the church youth choir. Amy and her brother traveled with the choir to Yosemite National Park where the choir visited churches along the way and preformed concerts.

After having her two daughters, she continued to stay involved in the community with school trips, PTA and supporting them in all of their school and outside activities. Her life, of course, centered around her girls. Amy was the best mother, daughter, sister and friend that anyone could have.

Amy is survived by her daughters, Bailey Michelle Beam and Chloe Jade Beam both of Allen, Texas; her parents, Billy and Sondra Foster Long of Allen, Texas; two brothers, Jason (Kim) of Palmetto, Florida and Mitch (Amber) of Wylie, Texas; niece, Carly Long and nephews, Caleb and Chase Long.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 10, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Allen, 201 East McDermott Drive, Allen, Texas. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Butterfly Garden at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.

Felicia Witt, November 8, 2019 I am so sorry to hear about Amy’s passing. I have somewhat stayed in contact with her through Facebook and know how much she loved her girls and of course her wonderful parents. I can’t help but smile every time I think of dumping her out of her chair and onto the floor that time at a volleyball game. She was a sweet girl and I knew I could always depend on her to give 100%. I am so sorry I will not be able to attend the service- Rodney and I are in our RV traveling in Florida. Please I know I will be thinking and praying for y’all. Love, Sheila

Robert Keith, November 7, 2019 One can’t put into words how I will miss our texts at 1am when we’d hear a strange noise in the alley. I’m going to miss your amazing pumpkin bread. How I always knew that if I needed anything it would be sitting on my front door within the hour I posted that I want Mac and cheese or such on Facebook. I don’t think my girls will ever realize that their second mom is missing from next door. They still check in at the door whenever they happen to get out. Thank you for always caring for the canine crew as if they were your own. Your house was their second home. We love you and miss you Ms. Amy. Ashbe, McKie, Tucker and Heather Seegert
Heather Seegert , November 7, 2019 Amy stayed with us on the English leg of her People to People visit and we remained friends ever since then. We wrote each other and over the years watched our daughters grow up, as just a few years apart. As one of my oldest friends, will treasure her friendship and generous and caring spirit. Although only meeting each other once, way back in 1984, remained friends and in contact with each other. Love you Amy, always will, and my heart is with your beautiful daughters.
