Amy Elizabeth Cook

Amy Elizabeth Cook was born December 17, 1969 in Dallas, Texas to Kenneth Clay Wright and Judith Suzanne Stroud Wright. She married Christopher Bicknell Cook on November 1, 1997 in Carrollton, Texas. She passed away at her home in Whitewright, Texas on May 21, 2019 at the age of 49 years.

Amy was a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. Amy loved Jesus and loved people. She never met a stranger and was always willing to encourage those in need. Her compassion was apparent in her counsel to other parents of hearing impaired children. Amy had a unique passion for crochet and enjoyed creating special things for other people. Her infectious smile lit up a room, and she loved her family fiercely.

Amy is survived by her husband, Chris Cook, son, Landon Reid Cook and daughter, Emma Grace Cook all of Whitewright; parents, Ken and Judi Wright of Quitman; sister, Mandilee Vallecillo of Carrollton; and grandmother, Lura Stroud. In addition, she is survived by her in-laws and several nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Wilburn Clay and Betty Lou Wright, and Jay Stroud.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Kentuckytown Baptist Church, Whitewright, Texas. Pastor Randy Morlan will officiate. Burial will follow at Vittitoe Cemetery, Whitewright, Texas. Pallbearers will be Chris Cook, Landon Cook, Bryan Cook, Ken Wright, Jason Wright, and Luis Vallecillo. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 12:00-2:00PM at Kentuckytown Baptist Church.
