Amelia Collette Duty

Amelia Collette (Robinson) Duty, a resident of Allen, Texas passed away August 12, 2024 at the age of 67.  She was born on May 24, 1957, to Otis Woodard and Joyce Robinson in Hempstead, Texas.  Amelia grew up in Houston, Texas, where she graduated from high school. Over the years, Amelia worked as a receptionist in various industries. 

Amelia was of the Baptist faith and attended Allen Heights Baptist Church in Allen.  The dedication she had to faith and family exhibited a profound commitment to the principles and values she cherished. Her active participation at church and her passion for Bible study mirrored her deep spiritual devotion. Amelia loved spending time with her family, obviously highlighting the value she placed on personal relationships and the joy she found in them. This blend of spirituality and familial affection is a true picture of Amelia’s life - lived with purpose and love.

Amelia is survived by her children, Deedra Bohanon and husband Kerry, of Duncanville, Texas; Courtney Barnes, of Allen, Texas; Jonathan David Duty and wife Leah Marie, of Lake Worth, Texas; Larry Donnell Duty and wife Erika, of Crestview, Florida; grandchildren, Tristen Crane, Nevaeh Duty, Amelia S. Duty, Jonathan David Duty II, Kayson Bohanon, Mia Duty, Milayna Banks Duty, Reyna Gabrielle Barnes, Alivia Collette Barnes, and Carter Donnell Duty; brothers and sisters, Aubrey Glen Smith, Vicki Goodings, Su Monica Taylor, and Bridgett Ann Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends, who will dearly miss her and cherish her memory.

Amelia was preceded in death by her parents Otis Woodard and Joyce Robinson; and a brother and sister.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas for a committal service.
