Amani Lawrence Edwards, a resident of McKinney, Texas, passed away May 30, 2026 at the age of 9. She was born on May 15, 2017, to her loving parents, Marion Christopher Edwards and Kimberly Ann Lawrence in Frisco, Texas.
From the moment she entered this world, Amani brought sunshine wherever she went. She had a joyful spirit, an infectious smile, and a heart that seemed far bigger than her years. Always happy, always curious, and always ready for the next adventure, she embraced life with enthusiasm and wonder. To know Amani was to love her, and she never met a stranger. She had a special gift for making friends and helping everyone around her feel included.
Amani loved the Lord and lived each day with a kindness and compassion that reflected her faith. Though she was only nine years old, she possessed wisdom beyond her years and an "old soul" that often amazed those around her. She was intelligent, thoughtful, and wonderfully vocal, never afraid to share her opinions or stand up for what she believed was right.
Small in stature but mighty in spirit, Amani filled every room with energy, laughter, and love. She loved to sing and dance, and believed that just about everything in life was worth celebrating. Whether she was performing a song, showing off a dance move, or simply making her family laugh with her playful shenanigans, she brought joy to every moment. She also enjoyed karate and approached every challenge with determination, courage, and confidence.
One of Amani's most endearing qualities was her enormous heart. She loved people deeply and cared for animals with remarkable tenderness. She had a special affection for bunnies and capybaras and was always quick to show compassion to any animal in need. She was a helper by nature—kind, humble, and always looking for ways to make someone else's day a little brighter.
Her family will forever remember her regal presence, her witty observations, her endless hugs, and the way she could light up a room simply by walking into it. They will remember her excitement over the things she loved, her favorite food—"meat"—and the countless conversations, celebrations, and precious memories that made her so uniquely Amani.
Though her earthly journey was brief, the love she shared and the happiness she brought to others will remain forever. Her beautiful spirit leaves an imprint on the hearts of her family, friends, classmates, teachers, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. Amani was an angel making a brief stop here on Earth.
Amani is survived by her parents Marion Christopher Edwards of Forney, Texas, and Kimberly Ann Lawrence of McKinney, Texas; brother, Agape Lawrence of McKinney, Texas; aunt, Angela Crawford of Plano, Texas; aunt, Joya Brooks, St. Louis, Missouri; and grandmother, Audrey Rackley, grandfather, Bill Lawrence, and grandmother Grace Lawrence; and numerous extended family members, classmates, and friends who adored her, and who will forever cherish the joy, laughter, and love she brought into their lives.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, on June 13, 2026, at The Bridge Frisco, 10501 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75035.
