Alvin Caraway was born March 3, 1940, and passed away peacefully September 4, 2010 at the age of 70. Alvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Aline Caraway of Princeton, Texas; children, Kathy Wilson and husband Jack of Westminster, Texas; Sandy Hammond and husband Lynn of Garland, Texas; and David Caraway of Princeton, Texas; grandchildren, Chuck, Chasidy, Kyle, Britni, Katheryne and Chase; great-grandchildren, Chason, Patience, and Knox (arriving soon); sisters, Annie Davidson of Alba, Texas; Marlene Tate of Melissa, Texas; Linda Mosley Ortiz of Georgetown, Texas; and Mickey Douglas of Princeton, Texas; brothers, Oliver Caraway of Monkstown, Texas; Jerry Caraway of Whitewright, Texas; John Caraway of Westminster, Texas; Jim Caraway of Blue Ridge, Texas; and Claude Caraway of East Texas. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Pascal and Evelyn Caraway, brother, Joe Caraway, niece Angie, and nephew Jody. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Jason McConnell officiating. Interment will follow at Pilot Point Community Cemetery in Pilot Point, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
