Alma Nelly Sepulveda of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 23, 2020 at the age of 73. She was born on January 21, 1947 to Miguel Antonio Sepulveda and Floripe Dolores (Rodriguez) Sepulveda in Ensenada, Puerto Rico. In 1966, Alma graduated from Blackstone High School in Blackstone, Virginia. She was a Walmart employee for 20 years. Alma enjoyed crocheting, macramé, collecting owl artifacts, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.
Alma is survived by her son, Luis A. Montalvo, Jr. and wife, Amy M. and their daughters, Casey A. Montalvo and Sydney A. Montalvo, all of La Crosse, Wisconsin; daughter, Elena Muñiz of McKinney, Texas; brother, Miguel “Tony” A. Sepulveda and wife, Diana L. and their children, Miguel “Mick” A. Sepulveda, III and his wife, Denise, all of Anchorage, Alaska and Marcus “Andy” A. Sepulveda and wife, Michelle of Hanceville, Alabama; sister, Milagros “Millie” F. Watz and husband, Stephen A. Watz, Sr. and their children, Stephen A. Watz, II and wife, Magan K., all of McKinney, Texas and Jennifer L. Thomas and husband, Michael C. of Plano, Texas; cousin, Rosa E. Huha and husband, Michael C. Huha of Florence, New Jersey; and numerous grandnephews and grandnieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Miguel A. Sepulveda; mother, Floripe D. Sepulveda and long-time companion, Pedro A. Muñiz.
The Rena Tarbet Cancer Center played a pivotal role in the care and support of Alma during her battle with pancreatic cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in her honor to the Rena Tarbet Cancer Center in McKinney, Texas. Checks and money orders can be mailed to the center at 4201 Medical Center Drive Suite 180, McKinney, Texas 75069.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of invited guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.
The service will also be live streamed on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Alma’s obituary page.
However, those who would like to honor Alma and show their support to her family may come to the funeral home where ample parking is available. While you remain in your vehicle, you may watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.
Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to the Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service by standing at a minimum distance of 20 feet from the tent and 6 feet apart from one another to comply with social distancing directives or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
A “come and go” visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020 from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with a rosary for invited guests only starting at 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home – Allen. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to comply with social and physical distancing directives.
The visitation and rosary will also be livestreamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the visitation and rosary on Alma’s obituary page.
