Alma Jean McKinney

Alma “Jean” Neal McKinney was born March 25, 1928 at Kentuckytown, Texas to Timothy Dale Neal and Lockie Marie Harp Neal. She married Mark Truman McKinney on May 11, 1946 at Savoy, Texas. She died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas at the age of 83.

Jean was a 1945 graduate of Whitewright High School. She was proud to serve in the Federal Civil Service for twenty-eighty and a half years. She retired as a Real Property Officer for the US Air Force at Carswell AFB, Fort Worth, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tom Bean.

She is survived by son, Mark S. McKinney and wife Nancy of Pittsburg; son, Gary D. McKinney and wife Debbie of Saginaw; son, Donald K. McKinney of Sherman; grandchildren, Mark T. McKinney and wife Angie, Kimberly Beard, Travis Forehand and wife Kayla, and Christen Anderson and husband Cody; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Neal and wife Billie Jean of Bells; sister, Maxine Pierce and husband Bill of San Antonio; sister, Aline Anderson and husband Eddie Ray of Whitewright; sister, Betty Christine Neal of Kentuckytown; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Mark Truman McKinney; brother, W. D. "Buck" Neal.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Tom Bean, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Billy Neal, Jr. and Rev. John Hall. Burial will follow at Vittitoe Cemetery in Grayson County, Texas. Pallbearers will be Charles Huddleston, Billy Hamilton, Cody Anderson, Mark T. McKinney, Mark Ryan McKinney, and Bruce Neal. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 6-8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
