Allen Criss passed away on October 14, 2017 at the age of 77. He was born on July 6, 1940 to William and Bonnie Jeanne (Wells) Criss in Atlantic, Iowa. He graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, went into the Army, and then earned his degree in Business at Arlington State College. Allen worked in the insurance business. He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed making others laugh. Allen loved playing golf and watching golf. He even lived on a golf course in McKinney, Texas. He also spent a lot of time traveling with family and going to Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and Texas Ranger games. He was energetic, caring and witty.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Criss of McKinney, Texas; son, Brian Criss also of McKinney; grandchildren, Megan Ziots and Brandon Ziots, both of Parker, Texas; son-in-law, Bill Ziots also of Parker; sisters, Pat Kopp and husband, Ned of San Francisco, California and Barbara Walton and husband, Pirk of Frisco, Texas; brother, Robert Criss and wife, Margaret of Allen, Texas; and sister-in-law, Karen Criss of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Carla Ziots, and brothers, John Criss and Tom Criss.
He was an incredibly strong and kind person and will be missed greatly.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen.
