Alla Jean Sutherland of Carrollton, Texas passed away May 30, 2022, at the age of 95. She was born on September 30, 1926, to Vernon Blyth Hall and Frances (Tompkins) Hall in McKinney, Texas. Alla was a graduate of Carrollton High School. She married the late Robert “Rusty” Lee Sutherland on December 5, 1946, in McKinney, Texas and they enjoyed nearly 34 years of marriage before his passing in 1980. Alla was a member of The Branch Church in Farmers Branch, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Alla will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Sutherland and wife, Debbie of Carrollton, Texas, Michael Sutherland and wife, Dawn of Benbrook, Texas, and Shawn Sutherland and wife, Judy of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Zachary Sutherland and wife, Carissa of Illinois, Jane Leonard and husband, Shane of Nebraska, Robert Sutherland and wife, Holly of Virginia, Ian Sutherland and wife, Elizabeth of Kansas, Kristen Peelle and husband, Jeff of California, and Haley Sutherland Gilbert and husband, Jon of Texas; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Alla was preceded in death by: her husband, Rusty Sutherland; parents; and siblings, Paula Dean Warner, Glynn Hall, and J.D. “Dick” Hall.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Webb Chapel Church of Christ, 13425 Webb Chapel Road, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
Alla was interred next to her beloved husband at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
