A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Alice Kathleen Ragsdale Rowe, 70 year old Leonard resident, is scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the Valley Creek Baptist Church, located at 3615 FM 896, Leonard, Texas 75452. Brother David Hawkins will officiate.

Kathy was born May 17, 1949 in Dallas, Texas. Her parents were Jesse Marion Ragsdale, Jr. and Alice Nean McKissack Ragsdale. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School. She met her husband, Jimmy Don Rowe, Sr., while in high school and they married shortly thereafter. Her first employment was with Southwestern Bell. Later she was employed by the State of Texas, from which she retired. Kathy was an active member of the Valley Creek Baptist Church and was loved by all. She loved planning a Valentine banquet, working with the JOY Club on planning activities and outings, serving the children and youth on Wednesday night meals and working with children through the Good News Club. She would even sing a special if asked by Ms. Winnie Steel. Kathy was a people person as shown by the many friends she had. She enjoyed family time and vacations. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, football games, going to the movies, and her beloved pets, JJ and Mikey. She passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at her residence.

Kathy is survived by her father: Jesse Ragsdale, Jr. of Leonard; her sons and their mates: Jimmy Don Rowe, Jr. and Candace Binger of Kaufman, Brian Anthony and Becky Rowe of Gun Barrel City and Jason Matthew and Kelly Rowe of Blue Ridge; her 7 grandchildren: Justin Rowe and Alison Rowe, both of Forney, Blayne Rowe and Bodie Rowe, both of Gun Barrel City, Karley Rowe of Blue Ridge, Charles Watkins and Cheyenne Binger, both of Seagoville; her 5 great-grandchildren: Grayson Rowe of Forney, Caleigh Watkins, Carson Watkins, Collin Watkins and Kingston Wadsworth, all of Seagoville: her sister and brother-in-law: Susan Ragsdale Crossland and husband, Calvin of Leonard; her brother and sister-in-law: Mark and Judith Ragsdale of Combine. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Don Rowe, Sr., her mother, Alice Nean Ragsdale and her grandparents, Jesse Ragsdale, Sr. and Margaret Ragsdale.
