Alice (Ricken) McBride passed away March 10, 2021 in Forney, Texas. Alice was 92 years old. She was the oldest of five children born to Bernard “Ben” and Theresa Freeze Ricken. Alice attended the Immaculate Conception Church and St. Joseph Catholic School in Haverhill, Iowa. Later, the family moved to Melbourne, Iowa where Alice graduated from Melbourne High School in 1946. She moved to is where she met her husband, Roy P. McBride, Jr. They married on November 7, 1949. They had three daughters, Linda Ann, Mary Therese, and Lisa Jean. In 1965, the family was transferred to McKinney, Texas with Fisher Controls. Once settled, they became members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where Alice was a 50-year member of the Altar Society taking care of the priest robes, vestments, and altar linens. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she held several different positions, including president. Alice worked as a receptionist at Davidson Veterinary Clinic in McKinney, and then went to work in the office at the Job Corp also in McKinney.
She is survived by her brother, Lawrence Ricken and wife, Marion of Haverhill, Iowa; daughters, Linda Nicosia and husband, Tony of Raleigh, North Carolina and Mary Kelly and husband, Chuck of Forney, Texas, Lisa Zoski and husband, Chuck of Trenton, Texas; grandchildren, Matt Nicosia and wife, Shelley, John Nicosia, Amy Stokes and husband, Jeff, Bryan Kelly and wife, Samantha, Justin Kelly, Kendra Cline and husband, Kenny, and John Zoski; great grandchildren, Kelsey Points, Laurel Nicosia, Carson Kelly, Jacob Nicosia, Peyton Cline, and Ryan Stokes; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband; her parents; brother, Leo Ricken and wife, Gladys; sister, Irene Warden and husband, Bob; sister, Patricia Jorgensen and husband, John; and great grandson, Spencer Zoski.
A visitation will be held on Sunday evening, March 14, 2021 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2021 at St. Michael’s the Archangel Catholic Church with burial following at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
