IN LOVING MEMORY

Alice Milam Hanks

Jun 14 1959 - May 18 2020

Alice Milam Hanks of Princeton, Texas passed away on May 18, 2020 at the age of 60 after a courageous battle with metastic breast cancer. She was at home and surrounded by family. Alice lived a beautiful life that was full of adventure. She was born on June 14, 1959 to Doris Jean (Thompson) Milam and Jerry Dale Milam in Okinawa, Japan. As a child, she traveled around a lot since her dad was in the military. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1977 and immediately began working on her degree in education at Stephen F. Austin State University. Since then, she has genuinely enjoyed teaching students over the course of 38 years in Texas as well as Tennessee.

Alice was passionate about life and always kept a good attitude! She loved spending time with her loved ones, whether she was riding dirtbikes, traveling, working on projects, or simply enjoying nature. She capitalized on every day that she had on this earth and lived without regret. Alice’s legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those that she impacted.

She is survived by her husband, Barry; son, Austin and his wife, Jess; daughter, Paige; stepsons, Barrett and Brayden; granddaughter, Aspyn; and her siblings, Jerry, Nancy, Glenda, and Deborah.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank her medical team, Hospice nurses, and all of those that have followed “Alice’s Attitude” and prayed for her courageous battle over the last two years. She will be sorely missed. You are encouraged to share a memory, send your condolences, and share your information through the guestbook. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
