Alice Faye McClure

Alice Faye McClure of McKinney, Texas passed away February 17, 2018, at the age of 76.  She was born December 29, 1941, to Elijah Easter and Irene (Moore) Easter in Hope, Arkansas. Alice confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church in Hope and later united with Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral care of the late Rev. E. D. Doyle. In 1959, she earned her high school diploma from Yerger High School in Hope.  In 1985, Alice married James McClure in Hope. She was employed with the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Alice completed the surgical technician course offered by the department of nursing service at the university.

She is survived by her children Rickey T. Gilmore and wife Ernestine of Little Rock, Arkansas, Doris F. Gilmore of McKinney, Texas, and Michael C. Gilmore and wife Marcia of Little Rock; brothers, Elijah Easter, Jr. and wife Lorine and Clifton Easter, Sr. and wife Hazel both of Little Rock; sister-in-laws, Carolyn Easter and Belinda Easter; a host of nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Irene Easter; son, Kevin Thomas; sisters, Mildred Alexander, Helen Brown, and Linda Easter; and brothers, Isaiah Easter, Sr., Robert Easter, and Bobby Easter.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
