Alberto Raoul Valdez passed away December 6, 2023 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 54. He was born to Alberto and Lucia Esther (Ochoa) Valdez on September 29, 1969 in El Paso, Texas.
Alberto grew up in El Paso, Texas where he graduated from Eastwood High School in 1988. He received an associate degree in Fire Science from Collin College. Alberto worked for the El Paso Fire Department from November of 1992 to January of 1999. He began working for Plano Fire-Rescue on February 15, 1999. Alberto became a part of the Plano Honor Guard beginning April of 2021. He was also a police officer with the City of Gunter.
Alberto enjoyed woodworking, working out, and he loved to entertain. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Alberto is survived by his wife, Adela Valdez of Gunter, Texas; children, Alberto Valdez, Jr. of El Paso, Texas, Kameron Herrod of Ogden, Utah, Kyle Herrod and wife, Carolina of McKinney, Texas, Kaelen Herrod of Pilot Point, Texas, Alyssa Valdez of McKinney, Texas, Ariana Valdez of Gunter, Texas, Yadira Valdez of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Mateo Valdez of Gunter, Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa Valdez, Story Herrod, Aria Smith, Marcel Herrod, Ayden Valdez; parents, Alberto and Lucia Valdez of El Paso, Texas; brother, Armando Valdez and wife, Elsie of El Paso, Texas; brother, Adrian Valdez of El Paso, Texas, and wife, Twonnette Pack of Baltimore, Maryland; and a host of other loving family and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive guests for a rosary and visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
