IN LOVING MEMORY

Albert Marvin Fuller, Sr.

Nov 20 1933 - Nov 24 2025

Albert Marvin Fuller Sr., a fifth-generation Texan, cattle rancher and devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, passed peacefully on November 24, 2025—four days after celebrating his 92nd birthday. Born on November 20, 1933, in Encinal, Texas, Albert was the youngest of five children born to Elsie and Dailey Fuller and was born into a family with longstanding ranching roots.

Albert grew up in South Texas brush country on the family ranch near Encinal, where his lifelong commitment to agriculture and hard work was first formed. At an early age, he learned to rope, ride, and developed his passion for “cowy” horses and cattle “with ear”.  Each day he traveled more than 30 miles north to Cotulla to attend school, where he played basketball and football, was an officer in FFA, and graduated from Cotulla High School in 1952 with 12 years of perfect attendance.

He went on to attend Texas A&I College, a chapter of his life remembered fondly as the place where he met the love of his life, Bertha Center. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education in 1956 and married Bertha in February 1957—as he often said, “I picked a good one.”  Together, they built a partnership rooted in faith, grit, and devotion—one that would span nearly 70 cherished years.

Albert spent his life doing what he loved: ranching, raising cattle and horses across Texas and, for a time, in southern California. Over the decades, he managed ranches, ran feedlots, owned a livestock sale barn, and raised commercial cattle—making a hand at an early age and earning a living.

He and Bertha spent the majority of their married life in North Texas, where they raised their three children – Marvin, Curtis, and Denise – in Plano before moving the family closer to his ranching headquarters near Blue Ridge.

A man grounded in faith, Albert served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Plano. His service extended far beyond the church walls—he volunteered with the Texas Baptist Men organization, participating in mission work in Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Honduras, New Orleans and New York. He was also a proud longtime supporter of Special Olympics, an organization close to his heart through his daughter.

A true servant and cattleman, Albert was a dedicated member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and the American Quarter Horse Association for over 50 years. On the occasion he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time at the ranch near Encinal with family on hunting trips.  His fluent Spanish-speaking ability allowed him to connect easily and respectfully throughout his life with ranch workers, friends, and those in need while on disaster relief missions.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind heart, subtle generosity, fierce independence, and a relentless work ethic that inspired everyone who knew him and is passed down in each of his family members.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Dailey Fuller, and his brothers, Thomas Dailey Fuller Jr. and Jean Fuller as well as his sister, Mary Elsie “Mickey” Fuller. He is survived by his loving wife Bertha Fuller; his daughter Denise Fuller; his sons: Marvin Fuller and wife Melisa; Curtis Fuller and wife Teresa; and his six grandchildren: Audrey Fuller Adams and husband Randon; Casey Fuller Hale and husband Jack; Dailey Fuller; Cole Fuller and wife Lindsey; Erin Clark and husband Eric; and Peyton Fuller and boyfriend Garrett Jackson; and his 95-year old sister, Patty Driskill and nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to The Coventry Reserve in Wylie, Texas, or to First Baptist Church of Plano, where Albert and Bertha have been faithful members for 56 years.

Albert’s legacy—rooted in faith, family, and agriculture—will live on in the generations who follow him and in the countless lives shaped by his quiet strength and steadfast character. The family takes great comfort in knowing this cowboy is now home in heaven.
