Albert Harold Seidler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away on August 3, 2025, he was 95 years old.
Albert, affectionately known as Al to his family and friends, was born on February 19, 1930, to Christof and Rosina (Sutnik) Seidler in Bismarck, North Dakota. Al grew up on the family ranch in Carson, North Dakota where the values of hard work, family, and service took deep root in his life. He carried these principles with him throughout his years and shared them generously with everyone he knew.
Al first saw the love of his life, Reita Phillipe, in Mott, North Dakota, while attending a basketball game with a friend. After a tenacious pursuit by Al, their bond was immediate and enduring, They were married on November 25,1951 in Mott, North Dakota. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, love and dedication, raising five sons who were the pride of their lives.
Al began his long and successful sales career with JCPenny followed by the Singer Sewing Company in Richfield, Minnesota. Al and the family moved to Richardson, Texas in 1972 where he eventually joined Certified Laboratories as their sales manager, retiring more than 30 years later.
A devoted family man, was known for his unwavering support and prudent wisdom. He was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America and took pride in seeing each of his five sons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
Al had a deep love for all sports, an avid outdoorsman, including Hunting, Golf, Tennis, Ice Skating, Water Skiing, and eventually Snow Skiing at the age of 60. However his true passion was Bass Fishing. Al was a talented custom fishing rod builder, and soon became known among fellow Bass fishermen as an expert in this field.
His love of sharing and teaching his craft, ultimately led him to become the founder of the Rod Crafters Bass Association Fishing Club in 1984. Bass fishing brought him joy, peace, and many cherished memories with family and friends.
Those who knew Al remember his high energy, affable demeanor, and how his charming smile reached his striking bright blue eyes. Al is also remembered as a wonderful husband, a devoted father, and a man who lived life to the fullest. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the family he nurtured with such care.
He is survived by his loving wife Reita Seidler of Richardson, Texas; five sons, Kevin Seidler and wife, Patricia of Frisco, Texas; Kurt Seidler and wife, Sheri of Plano, Texas; Richard Seidler and wife, Kimberly of Frisco, Texas; Daryl Seidler and wife, Judy of Arlington, Texas; Steven Seidler and wife, Deborah of Argyle, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Wagner of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Christof and Rosina Seidler; brothers, Arnold Seidler, Otto Seidler, and Gottleib Seidler; sisters, Emma Garber, Tillie Arnold, Frieda Peltz and Edna Long; grandson, Calvin Seidler.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2025, at Prestonwood Baptist Church , 6801 West Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093.
The family will receive guests during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A private graveside service will take place at Ridgeview West Memorial Park.
