IN LOVING MEMORY

Alan Summers

Aug 29 1948 - May 24 2020

Alan Summers passed away in McKinney at the age of 71. He was born in Sherman, Texas to William Edwin Summers and Ruby Louise Ray.

He is survived by his loving wife; Tammie Summers of Leonard, Texas, son; Mark Alan Summers of Melissa, Texas, daughters; Nina Herring and husband Clint of Weatherford, Texas and Jennifer Mendez and husband Jason of Wolfe City, Texas, sisters; Kay Buchanan, Lana Gonzales, Lona Harris, Debbie Summers and Carolyn Summers, Brother; Phillip Summers.

His only granddaughter, Jalyn referred to him affectionately as “Apple”. This began at the onset of developing her speech patterns.  For some reason Apple was easier too pronounce than Alan.  In return Alan referred to Jalyn as “Tootsie”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Water sports were something he loved and as a result spent many hours teaching his kids to water ski.  Alan loved the art from visual mediums including but not limited to painting and sculpting as well as music.  He was an avid food connoisseur trying various restaurants and different foods; he was even known to cook from the chuck wagon.  His love of the outdoors led him to activities such as, fishing, hunting, riding, roping, and traveling.  One of his favorites was spending time in the Hill Country.

Alan was a true cowboy, with a heart full of love for God, Country, Family and Friends.

He even loved his 4 legged kids: Tutti, Cowboy, Lucy and Fuzzy.
