IN LOVING MEMORY

Alan Michael Kampka

Dec 19 1953 - Dec 05 2020

Alan Michael Kampka, age 66, of Frisco, Texas, passed away suddenly on December 5, 2020. He was born December 19, 1953, in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Lawrence Earl and Mary Eveline (Boelter) Kampka.

Alan was a loving husband and a proud baker. He married the love of his life, Kathleen Ann Thomas, on July 26, 1980 in Beloit, Wisconsin. Together they lovingly raised four children, and are now blessed with 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Alan lived every day in dedication to his wife and his life’s work in the bakery. His mornings began with a “Good morning, I love you” text to his wife, a daily reminder of his adoration and endless love. He was intentional and faithful in his love for her, demonstrating for his children how to honor and cherish their spouse through simple, daily acts. Much of their time together over the last 25 years was spent traveling to visit (and spoil) their grandkids, and great-grandkids. He was determined to teach each one the “finger dance” and fill them with plenty of sugar from the seemingly endless supply of candy in his pockets and donuts from his favorite local bakeries.

Alan was raised in his dad’s bakery and dedicated over fifty years working in various roles in the industry. Most recently, he was the bakery manager at Central Market for seventeen years. His purpose far exceeded creating the best product, although he took great satisfaction from doing so. Baking was his love language. It was how he served people, how he loved in action. Alan was a great baker, but beyond that, a respected and thoughtful mentor to hundreds of employees over the years. He recognized the potential in each person. Alan took great joy in seeing his employees develop and learn the trade that had been taught to him by his father as a young child at Bake Rite Bakery.

Outside of his passion for baking, Alan enjoyed golfing, gambling, and traveling with his wife. Some of his favorite destinations were Las Vegas and West Palm Beach. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, making the trip to Lambeau Field and to the Rose Bowl to watch the Badgers. He enjoyed taking his family to countless Brewers games at County Stadium, even to watch his daughter Jennifer’s favorite team, the Cubs. The joy he shared through sports will continue to live in the hearts of his kids and grandkids for many years to come.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Kampka; children, Jeremy Lee and wife, Shannon, Jennifer Joy and partner, Jason, Justin Chadwick and wife, Angela, and Jacquelynn Nicole and husband, Chase; grandchildren, Drew, Elizabeth, Isabella, Shyanne, Samuel, Lane, Logan, Kyle, Maddie, Emmalee, Miles, and Marley; great-grandsons, Jonah and Teddy; sister, Denise Kampka; brother, John Kampka and wife, Linda; nephew, Michael Kampka and wife, Melissa; and niece, Katie Kampka Fravert and husband, Mike.

He is forever loved, and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.

A private memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on December 17, 2020 at Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco, Texas. For those not in attendance, the service will be live streamed on Grace Avenue Live Stream Link on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 4:00 p.m., https://gasanctuary.online.church/
