Aja Nicole Brunner

Aja Nicole Brunner of Frisco, Texas passed away November 25, 2018 at the age of 29.  She was born April 29, 1989 to Dave Brunner and Kim Mellard Brunner in Grand Prairie, Texas.  Aja was raised in Melissa, Texas attending Melissa schools from kindergarten to the first graduating class of Melissa High School in 2007 where she was active in sports. Aja excelled in volleyball and played with the Lady Cardinals team leading them to the all-district playoffs. She was the first Melissa High School homecoming queen. Aja attended Howard Payne University where she majored in Kinesiology and was a part of the Lady Jackets Volleyball Team.  She was passionate in the field of sports and athletics. Both lead her to a career in personal training working in small, large, and Hard Core training gyms. Aja loved helping clients achieve and surpass their personal goals. Aja was an infectious inspiration to all who met her. While laughing and teasing, she encouraged and pushed all to a better place. With her love and passion, Aja motivated her friends to self-improvement. She was baptized as a member of First Baptist Melissa Church. 

Aja is survived by her parents, Dave Brunner and wife, Susan of Frisco, Texas and Kim Mellard Brunner of Austin, Texas; sister, Alyssa Brunner of Austin, Texas; grandmothers, Patti Brunner of Prescott, Arizona and Patsy Mellard of Austin, Texas; aunts, Vicki Hebbert of Prescott, Arizona and Rachelle Keefer of Fort Wort, Texas; and uncle, Mike Mellard of Utah.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Charles Mellard and great-grandmothers, “Omi” Mellard and Ola Kennard.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
