Ahmad Shokri, 78, passed away on February 1, 2026, in McKinney, Texas. Born on August 5, 1947, in Tehran, Iran, to Hussein Shokri and Poran (Amedi) Shokri, Ahmad lived a life defined by devotion to his family, quiet strength, and an extraordinary professional legacy.
Ahmad built a distinguished career in telecommunications spanning more than four decades. A visionary engineer and leader, he helped shape the evolution of broadband wireless, fiber optic, and IP network technologies during a period of rapid global connectivity. He held executive leadership roles including Chief Technology Officer, Vice President of Systems Architecture, and Director of Operations for several pioneering telecommunications companies across the United States. Ahmad played an instrumental role in designing and building large-scale fiber optic and wireless networks, Network Operations Centers (NOCs), and data centers that supported critical communications infrastructure. He was widely respected for his technical expertise, integrity, mentorship, and calm, steady leadership. His work helped advance the systems that keep people and businesses connected every day.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ahmad was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He believed deeply in education, perseverance, and doing all things with excellence. Those who knew him will remember his wisdom, steady guidance, and the pride and unconditional love he had for his family.
Ahmad is survived by his beloved wife, Maryam Shokri of McKinney, Texas; his sons, Kevin Shokri and Cameron Shokri; his sister, Azam AliJan Pour; his brothers, Mahmood, Amire, and Hamid; his extended family including the Mowlavi, Lahijani and Mohtarez families; and a wide circle of relatives, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will be live streamed at https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/ahmad-shokri and will remain available for viewing afterward.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for dinner at Karsa to share one of Ahmad’s favorite meals and continue celebrating his life together.
