Adrienne Leigh (Turnipseed) Wolchik, age 63, passed away on August 26, 2017, at her home in Frisco, Texas, following an extended illness.
Adrienne was born June 17, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Harvey and Shirley (Mayo) Turnipseed of Jonesboro, Georgia. She graduated from Jonesboro High School where she was a varsity cheerleader and homecoming queen. Adrienne also attended West Georgia College and enjoyed a career as a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines. She married Fritz Wolchik on August 20, 1977, in Jonesboro. Although she was a dedicated advocate of women’s rights and an entrepreneur who launched several successful home-based businesses, the accomplishment about which she was most proud was her son, Alex.
Adrienne is survived by her husband, Frederic Alan (Fritz) Wolchik; son Frederic Alexander (Alex) Wolchik; brother Douglas Franklin Turnipseed; and mother Shirley Elizabeth (Mayo) Turnipseed.
She is preceded in death by her brother, David Harvey Turnipseed; and her father, Oscar Harvey Turnipseed.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Frisco Chapel, 8520 Main St., Frisco, Texas.
Another memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, 147 Church St., Jonesboro, Georgia.
For those planning to attend either of the services, we're planning them to be casual celebrations of her life. Please don't feel obligated to dress in black and be somber in spirit.
