Nov 04 1980 - Aug 01 2019

Adetoun Olufunke Popoola, originally from Lagos Nigeria, passed away on August 1st, 2019 at the age of 38. She was born on November 4th, 1980 to His Excellency, Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, the Late Chief Rafiu Bakare Jafojo and Her Excellency, Mosunmola Abeni Jafojo of Lagos, Nigeria.

Adetoun attended elementary school at Chrisland School in Lagos, Nigeria and high school at Queen's College in Lagos, Nigeria. She was a 2002 graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia where she received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology. Adetoun furthered her education by obtaining her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2008 from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia.

Adetoun first met her beloved husband, Femi Popoola, at the wedding of their Late aunty, Modupe Fakile in 1985, when she was just 5 years old. At that wedding, Adetoun was the little Bride and Femi was the Ring Bearer. Unknown to many a Love connection was being made. Adetoun and Femi were later married on November 14th, 2009 and their daughter Inioluwa Nina Popoola was born on August 26th, 2011.

Adetoun was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. She loved to listen to praise and worship music and also loved traveling. She had a great sense of fashion, which she inherited from her mother. She was also a foodie and her family adored sampling all of her specialty dishes. She was the researcher of the family, always helping to search for the right answers to medical questions, hotel and resort accommodations etc. That was her thing. She was not a party goer, but enjoyed her best times in the midst of family, listening to better "gist" and eating good food.  She took great care of all her nieces and nephews near and afar.

Adetoun is survived by her husband, Femi Popoola, her daughter, Inioluwa Nina Popoola; Sisters: Bola Adediji, Fadeke Jafojo, Adebimpe Jafojo; Toyin Ayodele and Kofo Olafuyi; Brothers: Adesoji Jafojo, Adeniyi Jafojo and wife, Oluwakemi, Adewale Jafojo and wife, Adekunbi, and Adeyinka Jafojo and wife, Oluwakemi; Brother-in-laws: Temitope Popoola and wife, Jamie; Oluwarotimi Popoola; Nieces and Nephews: Dunke, Grace, Timi, Michael, Adeoluwa, Teniola, Ademide, Toniloba, Nifemi, Tinuade, Dunminu, Feranmi, Darasimi, and Abiola; Father-in-law, Folorunso Popoola; Mother-in-Law, Iretiola Popoola; Aunt, Pastor Folake Akinwunmi and husband, Pastor Abiodun, Adopted Mothers, Uncles, Adeniyi Farinre and wife Kate, Olawale Jafojo and wife, Ayo as well as a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, and other loving family and friends.
