Mrs. Adelaida M. Cobarrubias, age 87, of Plano, Texas passed away November 1, 2010. She was born December 16, 1922 in the Philippines to Lorenzo and Luisa (Maliwanag) Macarandang. She grew up in the Philippines, where she met Honofre P. Cobarrubias after World War II at the United States Military base in Batangas, Philippines. Together, they helped for many years managing the family farm in the Philippines. Later in life Adelaida and Honofre moved to the United States to be close to their children and grandchildren. She spent her life as a dedicated homemaker, running a very efficient home for her family. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church for a number of years. She was a very loving wife and mother, and especially a wonderful grandmother. Adelaida is survived by her children, Nina Cobarrubias of Plano, Fe Norwood and husband, Mack of Plano, Irma Diosdado and husband, Phillip of Allen, and Noel Cobarrubias and wife, Marissa of Dallas; grandchildren, Brandon Norwood of Plano, Abigail Diosdado of Allen, and Gabriel Cobarrubias of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Honofre P. Cobarrubias. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2010, at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney with Father Bruce Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m., Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
