Adan Eduardo Aguilar

Adan Eduardo Aguilar, age 89, passed away peacefully at his residence in Little Elm, Texas, on August 18, 2024, surrounded by his devoted family. Born on October 25, 1934, in Corn Island, Nicaragua, to Alfonso Aguilar and Emma Downs. He was the oldest of his 6 siblings: Floyd, Ray, Carolina, Eric, and Tony and Ernomie. Mr. Aguilar was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family.

In July 1964, Mr. Aguilar married Maria Elena Aguilar, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage until her passing in 2015. Together, with their five children—Danelia, Adan, Miriam, Orlando, and Alfonso—they built a life centered on love, family, and shared values.

For 25 years, Mr. Aguilar worked in customs in Puerto Isabel, Nicaragua, where his dedication to his work was evident. He was then promoted to manager in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua until in 1982, when he relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, and became a taxi driver. This new role was a perfect fit for Mr. Aguilar, who loved meeting people and engaging in conversations. His deep familiarity with the city, along with his warm personality, made him a beloved and respected figure among his customers.

Mr. Aguilar was passionate about the outdoors, spending much of his free time fishing and enjoying nature. He loved reading and enjoyed books that expanded his understanding of the world. He loved reading about current events and had a special interest in politics. Despite spending many years away, Corn Island always held a special place in his heart, it was there that he and his wife chose to retire in 2000.

Mr. Aguilar is survived by his five children: Danelia Carrillo, Adan Aguilar, Miriam Aguilar Rodas and husband Hector Rodas, Orlando Aguilar, and Alfonso Aguilar and wife Barbara Aguilar. He is also survived by his two brothers, Floyd Aguilar and Eric Aguilar. Mr. Aguilar was blessed with ten grandchildren: Jairo, Yesenia, Yubelka, Adan Jr., Carlos, Myriam, Jose, Alfonso Jr., Adrian, and Michelle and 9 great grandchildren: Noheli, Dereck, Devin, David, Jairo Jr., Isabella, Sofia, Isabel, and Ivan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alfonso and Emma Aguilar, wife, Maria Elena Aguilar, and his brothers Ray Aguilar, Tony Aguilar, and sister Carolina Aguilar.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75033, on Friday, August 23, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033.
