Adam John Sobotka, age 77, of Plano, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020. He was born on March 22, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Evelyn Camille (Dubiel) and Phillip Stanley Sobotka. Adam obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry from Loyola University Maryland and was working toward receiving his Master’s Degree at Georgetown University. He began his career working for the FDA in 1964. A few years later, he joined the DEA working as a chemist for the federal government. He retired from the DEA in 1998. During retirement, he enjoyed traveling, square dancing, & spending time with family.
Adam married the love of his life, Mary Jean, on June 20, 1964, and they were blessed with three beautiful children. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Adam is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jean; his daughter, Wendy Jean Burrer and her husband, Paul; his son, Jeffrey Michael Sobotka; his precious grandchildren, Laurel Burrer, Gabriela Paruolo, Anthony Paruolo, Jacquelyn Burrer, Dominic Paruolo, and Noah Sobotka; his brother-in-law, Lou Waidner; and his niece, Lisa Waidner and her husband, Tony Vega.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Paruolo; parents, Evelyn and Phillip Sobotka; and his sister, Phyllis Waidner.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, Texas, at a later date.
