Adam Jason Darrow of McKinney, Texas passed away on March 20, 2021 at the age of 39. He was born January 5, 1982 to Philip S. and Mary P. (Stout) Darrow in South Bend, Indiana. Adam graduated from Clay High School in South Bend in 2000. He then attended Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) graduating in 2005.
Adam started golfing at the age of 2, when his father cut down an old 5 Wood to make his first gold club. He enjoyed competing in junior tournaments and went on to play in high school, where he received All State Honors. Next, he joined the IUPUI golf team and won a Conference Championship and played in the NCAA Golf Tournament. He was honored to be the first ever golfer in IUPUI history inducted into the Hall of Fame. Adam toured the country as a Pro Golfer until the age of 29. He truly loved the game of golf and the people he met.
Adam moved to Texas where he began his career in software sales. His success eventually landed him a job at Qualtrics. There he met some of his finest friends. Adam married Whitney (Hodge) Darrow on September 21, 2019 at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Bristol, Maine which was one of the most beautiful places they had ever seen. Adam's life was forever changed when God brought them together. They fell in love, traveled to so many places, and bought a beautiful house to call home. By uniting as one, Adam welcomed a second family of cherished individuals.
Adam loved traveling the world trying different cuisine and learning different cultures. He was a huge sports fanatic with his favorite teams being the St. Louis Cardinals and Notre Dame.
Adam had the closest bond with his mother and father and a special relationship with both of his sisters, Lori and Wendy, and each of his nieces; making sure distance did not keep him from being involved in their lives.
Adam was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church.
Adam Jason Darrow was a fierce competitor. He fought his illness with the utmost strength, dignity, and grace; while continuing to do God's work every step-of the way. Adam fought his illness to the very end, with his loving wife, Whitney, as their faith grew stronger, surrounded by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Whitney Darrow of McKinney, Texas; parents, Philip S. and Mary P. Darrow; sisters, Lori Brand and husband, Mark of Phoenix, Arizona, Wendy Ohlman and husband, Martin of Montgomery, Texas; nieces, Ashely Brand, Kelsey Ohlman, Kara Chapman and husband, John, Lindsey Brand, Lauren Ohlman and Bella Rose Nobile; sister-in-law, Hailey Maliska and brother-in-law, Ryan Maliska, Blair Nobile and brother-in-law, Brad Nobile; mother and father-in-law, Valerie and Johnny Hodge.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2021 in the Faith Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
