Abelia M. (Mora) Palomares of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 5, 2021 at the age of 85. She was born on September 7, 1935 to Tomas Mora and Vicala (Castor) Mora in Round Mountain, Texas. Abelia married Gabriel Palomares on September 14, 1982 in Flushing, Michigan. She retired from General Motors. Abelia was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas.

Abelia is survived by her children, Maria Elena Carranza and husband, Manuel of Arlington, Texas, Venancio Torres, Jr. and wife, Josephine of Flushing, Michigan, Silverio Garza, Jr. of Mount Morris, Michigan, Jose Garza and wife, Jennifer of Clinton Township, Michigan, Sylvia Garza of Wichita, Kansas, Yolanda Garza of Keller, Texas, Virginia Rodriguez and husband, Michaelle Kujacznski of Essexville, Michigan, Linda Garza Villa of McKinney, Angie Mendez and husband, Todd Dobucki of Ft. Worth, Texas and Maria Starnes and husband, Toller of Roanoke, Texas; grandchildren, Ricardo Jr., Christina, Olivia, Victoria, Venancio III, Jesse, Silverio III, Tiffany, Santino, Jose Carlos, Sarah, Luis Jr, Crystal, Robert Jr, Veronica, Silverio, Sylvia, Tino, Reynaldo Jr., Marcelino, Katrina, Crystal, Ricardo Jr., Armando, Kayla, Nichole, Alex, Ruben, Samuel, Hector III, Victoria, Dominick, Sean and Maximus; 35 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Eva Garza; father, Tomas Mora; mother, Vidala Mora; brother, Ernesto Mora; husband, Silverio Garza, Sr.; sister, Jesusa Silva; husband, Gabriel Palomares; grandson, Ricardo Torrez, III; and granddaughter, Ashlie Villa.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary service starting at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.

Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
