Aadel "Skiz" Newby

Aadel “Skiz” Newby passed away on April 25, 2023, in McKinney, Texas, at the age of 84.  She was born to Sidney C. and J. Claudine (Cry) Goodloe on November 21, 1938, in Mt. Calm, Texas.

Aadel attended Mt. Calm High School where she played basketball.  She was raised in the Church of Christ faith.  As a young lady, she enjoyed barrel racing in rodeos. She later found joy in arts & crafts, including painting, quilting and crocheting.  Aadel married Jimmy R. Newby, Sr., on July 4, 1986, in McKinney, Texas.  She was a longtime member of Northwest Christian Church in McKinney, Texas.  Aadel retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield after 27 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Deena Wilson, and husband, David, of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Jamie Allen, and husband, Les, of Little Rock, Arkansas; granddaughter, Jaron Allen, of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandson, Blake Wilson, of Carrollton, Texas; great-granddaughter, Athena Allen, of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister, Dolores Ward, of The Woodlands, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy R. Newby, Sr.; son, Michael Danford; and brother, Don Goodloe.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
