Zora Catherine Schmid, age 82, of Princeton, Texas, passed away August 17, 2011, in McKinney, Texas. Catherine was born February 18, 1929, in Los Angeles, California, to Bud Hunter and Lovie Ella (Murley) Harp. She married Gene J. Schmid on March 29, 1951, in McKinney, Texas. Catherine was of the Christian faith. She is survived by her husband, Gene Schmid of Princeton, Texas; daughters, Kathy Caldwell and husband, Rickey of Greenville, Texas and Dianna Mosley and husband, Gordon of Durant, Oklahoma; sons, Dean Schmid of Wylie, Texas and E. J. Schmid and wife, Stacy of McKinney, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Clara Pleasant of Mt. Vernon, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Bobby Schmid, brother, Buddy Steven Harp, and sister, Mary Lee Mitchell. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. L. A. Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
