Zella Pearl Lambert

ZELLA PEARL CAPPS HICKMAN LAMBERT, 95, a Celina area resident since 1920, passed on February 14 after a long life of caring service to her family and community. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on August 19, 1909, the first of six children of Charles G. and Alice Mable Capps. She graduated from Celina High School in 1926. She was married to Volney Hickman for 35 years before his death in 1964 and to Frank Lambert for 12 years before he passed in 1983. She was active in the Alla PTA and the Collin County Home Demonstration Club, and was a long-time Sunday School teacher at Marilee Baptist and Celina First Baptist churches. She is survived by two sons, A.C. Hickman and wife Mary of McKinney and Joe Hickman and wife Jackie of Dallas; sister Ethyl Holcomb and husband Homer of Sherman; grandsons Jerry Hickman and David Hickman, both of Garland, and Jeff Hickman of Missouri City; granddaughter Carrie Sadler of Waco; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom were very precious to her. The family will receive friends at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Celina from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 16. Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 17 at the First Baptist Church of Celina. Burial at Cottage Hill. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to VNA Hospice 2414 W.
