Zachary Alan Turner of McKinney, Texas passed away April 11, 2015 at the age of 20. He was born July 25, 1994 to Donald and Tami (Newsome) Turner in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Zachary left us doing what he loved to do more than anything in life – helping others. Along with his family, he was a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas.
Zachary grew up in McKinney, and attended school at Rueben Johnson Elementary, Bennett Elementary, Dowell Middle School and graduated from McKinney Boyd High School in 2012. After high school, he began college while also working. Zachary took the “I Am Second” movement to heart – always putting others first. Whether with friends in need, or his job, he could always be counted on to be there when he was needed most.
Zachary is survived by his parents, Donald and Tami Turner; brother, Landon Turner; sister, Aniston Turner all of McKinney, Texas; grandmother, Teresa Newsome of Plano, Texas; grandparents, Danny and Margie Turner of Burleson, Texas; great-grandmother, Ellie Pearse of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and many cherished and loved family members.
Zachary was preceded in death by his grandfather, Glen Newsome.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2015 at First Baptist Church McKinney, 1615 West Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
