Mr. Y.B. Lay, age 78, of Garland, Texas passed away December 29, 2005, in Garland. He was born March 29, 1927, in Van Alstyne, Texas to Vanus “Bill” Lay and Mary Estel (Wolfe) Lay. On October 14, 1944, he married Grace Marie Hamilton in Sherman, Texas. Mr. Lay served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. In 1986, he retired from Continental Emsco where he worked as a foreman. Mr. Lay was a member of the Buckingham Road Church of Christ in Garland, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Marie Lay of Garland; children, Leonard Lay and wife, Lisa of Rowlett, Texas and Patti Killingsworth and husband, Dennis of Garland; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Kristin and Shannon; brothers, Billy Lay of Garland and Gerald Lay of Van Alstyne; sisters, Dorothy Sloan of Van Alstyne, Nelda Jacobs of Abilene, Texas, Melinda Searcy of Van Alstyne and Joyce Gracy of Heath, Texas; and several other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2006, at the Buckingham Road Church of Christ, 3630 Buckingham Road in Garland, with Bro. Richard Blaisdell officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
