Wilson "Whizmo" Moore

Wilson “Whizmo” Moore, of Plano, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2013, at the age of 72.  He was born on September 5, 1940, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Henry P. Moore and Maggie Lee (Lamkin) Moore.  On October 4, 1980, Wilson married Cheryl Lee Stowe in Richardson, Texas.  He was a graduate of North Texas State University, where he was very active in the Sigma Nu Fraternity.  Wilson proudly served his country in the United States Naval Reserve.  He worked at State Farm Insurance in Dallas, Texas for over 38 years.  He had a great love for woodworking, golf, snow skiing, fishing and marathon running.  He also enjoyed his tractor, Porsche, Corvette, homemade salsa, wine and Cuban cigars.  Wilson was a founding member of the Hilltop Amigos and a sponsor of the Original Terlingua International Championship Chili Cook-Off benefiting the South Texas Chapter of the ALS Association. 

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Moore of Plano, Texas; children, Jemma Irish and husband Derek; grandchildren Cassidy, Elisa, and Jack Irish of Houston, Texas, Danny Stowe and his wife Becky; grandchildren Dylan, Chloe, and Laken Stowe of McKinney, Texas. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, exit 38A, in Allen, Texas.
