Willie “Bill” Houston Landers of Allen, Texas passed away May 5, 2015 at the age of 96. He was born October 1, 1918 to Archie Houston Landers and Willie Mae (Odle) in McKinney, Texas. Willie married Argel Augusta Griffin on April 11, 1938 in McKinney, Texas. He grew up in McKinney, Texas. Willie was a fundraiser for the Southern Baptist Association to help with building churches. Willie loved sports and writing. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas.
Willie is survived by his wife of 77 years, Argel Landers of Allen, Texas; son, Monte Ray Landers and wife Melody of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Trish Ragsdale and husband, Robb, Trey Landers, and Brandon Haaland; great-grandchildren, Skyler Ragsdale, Brittney Pysllas, and Jessie Rivera; great-great-grandchildren, Josiah Rivera and Jazmariah Rivera; and a host of other loving family and friends.
A graveside inurnment will be held at Pecan Grove Cemetery at a later date.
