William "Gene" Wray

Mr. William “Gene” Wray, age 83, of Rockwall, Texas passed away October 14, 2007, in Plano. He was born July 14, 1924, in Royce City, Texas to Archie Franklin and Bessie Elizabeth (Bolden) Wray. On October 25, 1948, he married his wife of 50 years, Wanda Elizabeth Jordan, whom preceded him in death. Mr. Wray served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. He was the former owner of Plano Auto Supply in Plano. He served as an Elder Emeritus at the First Christian Church in Plano where he was an active member. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason. On February 26, 2000, he married Trilby Pauline Gann Wray in Rowlett, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Trilby Wray of Rockwall; sons, Bill Wray and his wife, Stefanie and Brent Wray all of Plano; godmother, Mary Katherine “Jel” Carpenter; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ashley and Kristin Wray; brother and sisters, Pauline Meggs of Duncanville, Texas, Billie Ruth Mattingly of Rowlett, Bessie Cornett of Lindale, Texas, and Tommy Wray of Garland, Texas; step-children, Jimmy and wife, Linda Wray and Rose Ann Wray; 4 step-grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren. Mr. Wray’s first wife, Wanda preceded him in death on May 7, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brother, Lorene Plumblee, Lucille Way, Fred Wray, Jessie Parker and Sara Martin Loafman. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the First Christian Church of Plano with Rev. Bruce R. Grentz officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation, Tuesday, October 16, 2007, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 813 E. 15th Street, Plano, Texas 75074.
