IN LOVING MEMORY

William D. (Bill) Whisenant

Jun 19 1944 - Oct 14 2005

Mr. William D. (Bill) Whisenant, age 61, of Dallas, was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on October 14, 2005 after a tough battle from complications from a heart attack. Bill was born on June 19, 1944 in McKinney, Texas to John and Ruth (Lindley) Whisenant. He was a graduate of the University of North Texas and began his career at Republic National Bank of Dallas. Bill established Whisenant Properties in 1971 and in the last few years he was joined in the business by his sons, Brook and Preston, to further develop the company. Bill was a commercial real estate broker and developer for over 30 years with extensive knowledge of Collin County. Bill had a boundless love and devotion for his family. He had a great capacity for caring and a genuine interest in all those he met. Each time he met a friend he would inquire about them and their family. Then he would give them a complimentary update on Della’s latest project and a glowing report on cherished granddaughter Rylie. He always bragged on his daughter-in-law Emily and was thrilled with Preston’s fiancée, Kristen Giglio. Bill’s enduring love for his mother, Ruth and a strong bond of love was evident between Bill and his brothers Ben and David. Bill exhibited incredible love and generosity in his relationships with all of his and Della’s family. His friendships were many. Bill cemented those relationships with his many golf friends on courses from Texas to Ireland. The family would like to thank Bill’s friends who cared so lovingly for them during his illness. Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Della Whisenant of Dallas; son Brook William Whisenant and daughter-in law, Emily of McKinney; son John Preston Whisenant of Dallas; mother Ruth Whisenant of McKinney; brother Ben Whisenant and wife Betsy of McKinney; brother David Whisenant and wife Paula of Dallas; granddaughter Rylie Claire Whisenant of McKinney; and a number of nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was proceeded in death by his father, John M. Whisenant. Memorials may be made to honor Bill to the William D.
