William Walker

William Walker, age 74, of McKinney, Texas, passed away April 9, 2009, in McKinney. William was born July 20, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia to William Ray and Cora Hale (McClain) Walker. He married Marilyn Muncy on April 21, 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana. William attended North Georgia College and University where he remained active in the alumni association. He was an engineer at Texas Instruments and was a member of Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. William was very active with the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) where he served as District Vice President for the state of Texas. He was also co-founder of the Red River Valley SAR Chapter in Paris, Texas. William proudly served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Walker of McKinney; daughters, Laura Christopherson and her husband, Phil of Nashville, Tennessee and Janice Reed and her husband, Randy of Princeton, Texas; and beloved granddaughter, Delaney Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 13, 2009 at Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas with Rev. Jack Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Sunday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
