William Hamilton Vitz

William Hamilton Vitz of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 24, 2015 at the age of 74. He was born on June 19, 1941 to John Otto and Katherine Sue (Hamilton) Vitz in Amarillo, Texas. William married Judy Daniels on March 18, 1961 in Clovis, New Mexico. He graduated from Texas Tech University and South Texas College of Law. William was an attorney in McKinney, Texas for over 40 years. He served the city of McKinney as a City Councilman and board member of the McKinney Economic Development Council. William was a former Deacon of First Baptist Church in McKinney. He was a current member of Chestnut Community Church.

William is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judy Vitz; children, Tony Vitz and wife Kim, Kristy Sera and husband Gene, Debbie Wells and husband Wally, John Vitz and wife Tammy all of McKinney, Andy Vitz and wife Wendy of Celina, and Charlotte Holtz and husband Rob of Littleton, Colorado; grandchildren, Andy, Nick, Cody, Brad, Mark, Jodi, Justin, Samantha, Abbey, Barrett, Ryan, Will, Cooper, Miles, Hannah, Jackson, Andrew and Max; great-grandson, Tristan; sister, Charlotte McCraw and husband John of McKinney; brother, Todd Vitz and wife JoAnn of Kingwood; sister-in-law, Betty Vitz of Lubbock; numerous nieces, nephews and other living relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chacie Vitz; daughter-in-law, Lise` Vitz; and nephew Cary Vitz.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Rickey Hargrave officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening, November 27, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in William's honor to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 9400 N Central Expy #1201, Dallas, TX 75231.
